I loved reading through your piece and the connections with my own thoughts on “migration.” (Still in process) keep up the great work!

Thanks Jeff. It’s always nice to hear when my writing connects with something readers are currently processing.

Home is definitely where you make it! I've already written here on Substack about my own concept of home, which resonates with that concept.

But it's also good to return to places where you feel "at home", even though it might not really be your home. You might have read about my experience(s) of something similar: https://substack.com/@ronsmit/p-181308641

Thank you Ron for sharing your thoughts and adding the link to your post. I hope everyone who has written on this topic will do the same. I love to hear lots of perspectives.

JL as you know, I do believe you can go back as long as you don’t have the same expectations for example, given current situation in Cuba I’m pretty sure it would be a disappointment.

I too long to go back to Cusco. Most travellers are on their way to other places and just passing through Cusco for a couple of days. There’s so much more to do there.

And Newfoundland, what can I say?

Thank you Roberta for sharing your thoughts, and for writing the piece that helped me think through this topic.

The current situation in Cuba is dire. It is such an amazing place with incredibly resilient people. It’s hard to say more without getting very political in my comments.

Cusco was a turning point for me. I've realize that I’m now at the point of my life where I’m choosing to experience a few things more deeply rather than experiencing many things in a more superficial way (see my piece Quantity vs. Quality ;-). I know I’m going to ‘miss out’ on a lot, but I’m feeling settled with that.

And Newfoundland? I loved it so much I was slyly looking at real estate listings while there! No. I’m not moving to Newfoundland, but I definitely dreamt about it.
